The number of flash flood victims in Kedah rose to 513 at 8pm, up from 501 at 4pm.
Kedah Disaster Management Committee secretariat officer Imran Azemi said in Kota Setar, 112 people from 31 families are being accommodated at SK Titi Gajah, 79 people from 30 families at SK Gunung and 60 people from 21 families at the Assyakirin Surau.
In Baling, Dewan Orang Ramai Kampung Banggol Derom is housing 57 people from 17 families, Dewan Batu 60 people from 21 families; Dewan Kampung Weng Luar 31 people from 10 families; Dewan Risda Kampung Tanjung Pari 32 people from nine families; and Dewan Orang Ramai Keda Batu 8 21 people from six families, he said in a statement.
In Kubang Pasu, 77 people from 19 families are housed at the Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan Lubuk Batu, he added.
In Shah Alam, a Selangor Disaster Management Unit spokesperson said several areas in Klang were inundated up to 0.5m of water due to heavy downpour in the afternoon and the king tide phenomenon.
The worst hit were Kampung Delek Kiri, Taman Bukit Kemuning and Taman Melawis.
However, the spokesperson said there was no evacuation done and that the unit was monitoring the situation closely.
