Auxiliary cop allegedly beaten up for placing PKR flag in restaurant – Nation

JOHOR BARU: An auxiliary policeman was beaten up by three men for placing a PKR banner and flag on the table of a restaurant here.

Skudai DAP candidate Tan Hong Pin said, according to the victim, Mohd Nur Ridzuan Ahmad Fauzi, the three men also snatched his necklace and three lockets.

“The 37-year-old victim claimed that one of the men scolded him before strangling him during the 11am incident on Thursday (May 3),” he said when contacted.

According to Tan, Mohd Nur also said that the other two men beat him up with a helmet and pushed him to the floor before they snatched his necklace and lockets.

“The victim suffered several injuries on the left arm as well as the stomach. He lodged a police report at the Skudai police station later,” said Tan.

Tan expressed his disappointment, adding that no matter how big the differences between the political parties, violence was never the answer to anything.

“I would like to urge all Pakatan Harapan supporters to remain calm and we will wait for the police to do their part in investigating the case,” he said.

When contacted, Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Taib Ahmad confirmed receiving the report.
