EC awards Sandakan power plant project – Business News


KUALA LUMPUR: Ranhill Holdings Bhd said a consortium of companies, in which its subsidiary is a partner, had received a conditional letter of offer (CLOA) from the Energy Commission (EC) to develop an electricity power plant in Sandakan, Sabah.

The CLOA is a the development of a 300MW combined cycle gas turbine plant, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Ranhill said wholly owned unit SM Hydro Energy Sdn Bhd (SMHE) is involved, but it did not disclosed who are the other partners in the consortium.

“SMHE is currently evaluating the terms and conditions of the CLOA,” it said.
