Speaking at a media briefing today, EPF CEO Datuk Shahril Ridza Rahman said: “We would like to capture as much global growth as possible.
“Latin America is a growth market that we are considering to enter.”
The retirement savings fund currently invests in 30 markets, which include developing markets, as well as North Asia and Asean regions.
EPF’s global asset exposure stands at 28% to date, and Shahril intends to grow this figure to 32% this year.
EPF declares a dividend rate of 6.9% for Simpanan Konvensional 2017, with a payout amounting to RM44.15bil, and 6.4% for Simpanan Shariah 2017, with payout amounting to RM3.97bil.
In total, the payout for 2017 amounts to RM48.13bil, an increase of 29.8% from 2016.
As of December 31, 2017, the total contribution to EPF was RM768.51bil, from 14 million members.
