The Force is strong at Resorts World Genting (RWG) with the addition of Asia’s first hyper-reality Star Wars experience later this year.
Star Wars: Secrets Of The Empire is a first-of-its-kind virtual reality experience that will take guests through a breathtaking journey into the iconic franchise’s universe.
The attraction, created by ILMxLAB and The Void, is set to be one of RWG’s key attractions when it opens. The Void chairman Craig Watson said in a release that the new attraction will take visitors to worlds that, until now, only existed in their imaginations.
“In Star Wars: Secrets Of The Empire you can hear, feel, touch and even smell – bringing you closer to the story, characters and places,” he said.
Under the orders of the rebellion, teams of four travel to the molten planet of Mustafar and sneak onto an Imperial Base. During the mission, participants will encounter familiar Star Wars characters as you navigate dangers at every turn.
Visitors will be able to walk freely and untethered on an interactive stage. Reality and imagination mix to deliver fully immersive experiences. Guests will feel the impact of blaster bolts, smell the smoke from the surrounding environment, push buttons to solve an interactive puzzle.
ILMxLAB executive in charge Vicki Dobbs Beck said the idea is to let fans experience the story on a deeper level. “Our goal is for people to step inside our stories. Now Malaysian and Asian audiences will have the opportunity to do just that as they experience the excitement and adventure of Star Wars,” she said.
