AYER HITAM: Johor, Kedah and Sabah will be important states in the coming general election, said state DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong.
Speaking to the press after chairing the state committee’s first meeting in DAP’s new election centre in Ayer Hitam on Sunday (March 4), Liew said just DAP winning the seats it contested was meaningless.
”We hope we can help our Pakatan Harapan partners win in all the seats contested.
Liew said that in Johor the pact needed to win an additional 10 Parliament seats, besides the current six held by Pakatan Harapan – Bakri, Kluang, Gelang Patah and Kulai (DAP) Batu Pahat (PKR) and Pagoh (Pribumi).
The coming campaign will be a Pakatan Harapan campaign, not just a DAP one, the aim in Johor is to win, so we can form the federal government and also state government,” said Liew in a short press conference.
Previously, DAP had contested in six parliament and 14 state assembly seats in the state, winning four and 13 out of those contested.
